Matt Cauthron is a photo-based creative, husband, father of four, and educator living in the Coachella Valley. Over his 30+ years as an arts professional, his work has included film and digital photography, mixed media assemblage, graphic design, video, and education.
His current creative passions fall in photographing and creating pieces of the DesertFunky. His visualization focuses compositions into Assemblage that sanctify the relationships of rustic materials, shapes, texture, and image. Many of his pieces rely on artifacts from his immediate environment such as treated woods, aged metals, and photographs from the studio or greater desert region.
Matt is also an Apple Distinguished Educator, Adobe Education Leader, and co-founder of the Digital Arts Technology Academy. He has worked with Apple, Adobe, The California Department of Education, and The California Arts Project to assist other arts educators, develop and present model practices, and write the current California Arts Standards for Media Arts.
